Easy DIY Pavement Mold used at front yard

Easy DIY Pavement 9-stone Mould

Main Features:

  • Durable and reusable PP plastic mold, clean the mold before reusing it
  • Create irregular geo patterned walks, paths, patios, courtyards, etc.
  • An easy and quick solution for professional-looking pathways and patio stones
  • Helps you to decorate your backyard landscaping
  • Only three tools are needed; a mixer, stone mold, and a trowel
  • Just fill the mold, smooth the stone and lift away the mold
  • For making paths of different colors, simply add coloring paint to the concrete before filling

INSTALLATION SURFACE PREPARATION:

  • The DIY Pavement Mold can be placed on any relatively flat surface. It will automatically configure the concrete to the existing base. For professional results, remove one inch of topsoil, and level the DIY Pavement Mold before filling it with concrete.
  • Removed topsoil can be utilized to fill in open spaces on sides and between concrete after the walk has been set up. Mix concrete thoroughly until a plastic-like (moldable) consistency is reached. If additional water is required, add small amounts until the correct consistency is obtained.

Filling up DIY Pavement Mold

  • Use a bucket or trowel to fill each mold cavity level with the surface of the mold. While concrete is still in mold, pat and smooth cavity surface with a trowel. Remove mold promptly. After removing the mold, smooth all edges with a trowel until appearance is satisfactory. Dipping a trowel in water may be helpful. Place the mold adjacent to the completed section and continue this process until your project is completed. Having more than 2 molds speeds up the job.

Application of DIY Pavement Mold

  • Concrete should be damp-cured for 5-7 days for the greatest strength. To outline/trim blocks, fill in separations with Sand/Soil Mix after the concrete has cured. Place dry Sand Mix in cracks and sweep to the desired level. Dampen the Sand Mix with a fine mist of water (do not over-wet). Let Sand/Topping Mix harden to finish the project.

I purchased this mold so I could create a little walkway along the side of the batting cage in our backyard where it tends to get muddy, and it turns out it became more of an art project!! The mold worked out fabulously and I couldn't be happier!! I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to do something different with a walkway, especially since this was so easy to use, I had no issues with wet concrete or colors sticking to the mold, and the mold itself is very strong!! I love it!!!

During this pandemic, when in quarantine my partner and I decided we needed to do something with our backyard. Via a Pinterest exploration for DIY backyard ideas, we came across these molds. We ordered 2 of them and all other accessories needed to work this out. 1 bag of cement made two and a half pavers. We mixed cement using the 2 person tarp method. Using only two molds it took us three days working in three-hour shifts. Once completed we panted the cement and added self setting sand to fill in the cracks. It really worked out well.

I have never experienced what it's like to work with concrete. These DIY molds are super easy. I bought 2 molds and 4 bags of concrete and made about 10 feet of wall way with it. I added a little water on top to make them smoother and I sprayed the mild with PAM cooking spray to release it and sprayed them off each time. They aren’t perfect but it was fun and I learned a lot!

These are fun to use, we are making pavers for our patio extension. An 80 pound bag of Quikcrete makes 4 pavers. We read other reviews that said to use a mold release or non stick cooking spray and remove the molds after about 15-20 minutes so we took that advice and it has worked perfectly.

Great size and easy to use. Making a pathway from our driveway to the house and couldn't be easier. Ordered 2 more (a total of 3) to make the work go faster. Btw an 80lb bag fills the mold 3 times perfectly. We let the concrete set for about 8 minutes before we lifted it when it looked a little dry on top and moved to the next. We were able to use the whole bag before it set doing it this way using quickcrete. I was able to do the whole job by myself.

This mold is heavy-duty. I was worried it would be flimsy, but it is not at all. Compared to one I saw in a big-box store, this one is of far superior quality and the mold itself is much larger. I am satisfied with the purchase.
